Akita and Ibaraki made a roster change.
Both teams had to release an import player because of B.LEAGUE regulation.
On April 9th, the Akita Northern Happinets released Tanner Lessner from his contract. Leissner signed with Akita in November and helped the team get into wild-card contention after a slow start with a 3-11 record. He averaged 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds but was diagnosed with a concussion after the Sun Sockers Shibuya game on March 31st. Akita decided to release Leissner because there is no prospect of recovery during the season, and B.LEAGUE regulation prohibits players from being registered on the injury list after March 18th. Angelo Chol, who was on the injured list, will be registered as a participating player.
Ibaraki Robots made a similar move to Akita due to this regulation. Ibaraki released Johnny O'Bryant, who suffered a muscle tear at the gastrocnemius muscle tendon junction in a game against the Yokohama B- Corsairs on April 7th. His injury took two months to heal. Eric Jacobsen was sidelined for a long time due to a stress fracture discovered before the start of this season and added to the roster. O'Bryant, who joined Ibaraki midway through this season, averaged 15 points and 7.1 rebounds in 36 games.
